The Albuquerque independent film community in action!
Mastering the Short Film
Matthew McDuffie, local writer/director of Burning Bodhi, which sold at the Cannes Film Festival last year, co-writer of The Face of Love, starring Annette Bening – and Professor of Practice in screenwriting at The University of New Mexico, is teaching a pair of workshops this June on the making of the short film.
Participants will learn the art and craft of story, create a screenplay, and then explore the role of director: pre-visualizing, planning shots, and working with actors. All students will have a completed screenplay, ready to shoot at the end of the class.
The classes will consist of four evening sessions, over the course of two weeks, the first will be for beginners, the second for advanced filmmakers; space is limited, and the cost for each four-class session is $250.
Classes will be held at Arts Lab in Albuquerque.
1st session (intro): Wednesday and Thursday evenings:
June 6, 7, 13, 14… 6:30 to 9:30
2nd session (advanced): Wednesday and Thursday evenings:
