Profile Information

What do you do? Actor, director, composer, writer, etc...
Just graduated from San Diego State University. Currently doing an internship for Film here in Albuquerque. Recently got DENIED from USC for Grad School (they only accept 32 students in the nation for their screenwriting program) but... the good news is, I haven't lost my passion! To be great we must accept our failures and learn from them.

Nothing in particular. Maybe we could do an indieq project and have people from the group crew it and act, or something!. I'd love to see what you've got if you don't mind sharing. Shoot me an email at Talk to you soon!

Hey Ashley,
I think I saw you at the recent indieQ meeting, were you there? Sounds like from your profile you're a writer. That's awesome, we need good material!

Have you written any shorts you'd like to see produced lately? Submitting anything to the Duke City Shootout?

Great attitude, Ashley! (referring to your bio) I agree with Brian, pay attention to things that work, and then DO. I don't believe in destiny, it's an excuse for people who say I can't. You can do whatever you put your mind to, as long as you realize you have to take others along with you. They provide what you don't have. Keep going, don't give up, and we'll see how things go with the new venture.

I am currently trying to product my first short.

Anytime you want to bounce ideas feel free. If you want to read mine your welcome as well I love to get opinions. But the best advice is if you see a vision or have any idea, don't let anyone change it, and don't change it to be 'like' something. Don't model anything after something that has came before you. People want new, not re-done. :)

I actually just taught myself what I know by reading, watching and paying very close attention to what I see and like. I am always researching new and old directors as well as new and old styles. I'm constantly reading :)

I think film school only helps you to a point. I have seen countless film school videos that were just terrible. You can't teach someone to tell a story. You tell it in your head, write down what you see in the most detailed way you can. If you pay attention to what works in other films and apply your own ideas, thats what it seems to take.

I LOVE film, so that helps. Even when I see a bad movie I learn from it and try to take the good from it. Enter the DCSO, looking at past winners I think more people need to enter. It's such a great opportunity if your one of the 8 chosen! I don't like film schools and would only go if It was no money out of pocket. Don't get me wrong it would be interesting, but the best part would just be all the free use of equipment in my eyes.
